Hi Bean...

It's springtime here in northern Idaho, and as is my usual practice, I took my yellow lab, Nikki, for her morning walk a day or so ago right after breakfast. We live on the outskirts of Coeur d'Alene about five or six miles from the center or town. The elevation here is about 2650 feet above sea level. The snow is gone (finally)! The terraine is hilly with lots of fir trees and rocky outcroppings. Nik and I were walking along an old logging road when I caught the wolf walking across and upward along a far slope about 200 myards away. We both stopped, and so did he. After a bit he continued on up the slope toward the property of a neighbor (who owns a couple of nice dogs).

I have not seen wolves here before, but I have seen coyotes, deer in abundance, elk, bear and moose. The coyotes are whelping now so there is plenty of activity on our hillside. Inasmuch as wolves travel in packs, the sighting has caused some concern among the neighbors. There have been no reports of damage or attacks, so all is well in northern Idaho. You should visit some time!

I just today got my A1C glucose levels, the one measures for last 3 months blood sugar, and they were just perfect, right in middle of the normal range. YEAH TRICIA! How you doing with your diabetes?
