Beavertail is one of the few meats I haven't tried. Sounds good in a pastry. Yum yum. Does it taste as good as Bear?

Thanks for the big, friendly welcome. But what can one expect from someone in the Great White North, eh?

p.s. Are you a member of Possum Lodge?

WOW! That Beavertail looks delicious! I may have to journey up there just to try one.

Yep, we get Red Green down here in the Bluegrass. I wish Harold hadn't gotten married. They had to end the series! Waaaaaa!

Thanks for the good wishes on Nora Hope's birth. Nora and big brother Payton and mommy and daddy are well. I'm still with my daughter and family in Cincinnati, Ohio, doing gramma duties and becoming quite tired myself! It's a good tired, however! I'm hoping to be able to go home tomorrow (Wednesday 5/14) and then I can play sudoku again!

CG, if even that first rung of the rope ladder is under water, time to get OFF the ship, cause it would be sinking! A ship floats on the ocean tide, it does not sink into it!

Yes, I did receive the article on the Greenland Shark. I read about them in National Geographic magazine way back in their September 1998 issue. Here is a photo from the magazine's website of the Greenland Shark.

Note the tiny worm trailing from its eye. Were it not for the text of the articles, I would never know that tiny worm has made an entire species blind.

Dear Greg,
Thank you for your support while I have been ill. I never expected such a response from this site, everyone’s concern and caring has overwhelmed me. I can only say that it is the genuine people here who make this a very unique place to share our hopes, dreams, ups and downs. So thank you for being there.

Greg - I'm sure Aaron will take you for a ride on his motorbike when you come to Albany. He took me for a ride on one of his motorbikes years ago and said "never again". I'm afraid I didn't lean the right way going around a corner (I thought if he leaned one way & I leaned the other, it would balance it better) and he said we nearly came off. Oh, well, perhaps he will relent and take me for a ride on the new Harley.
After all, that's what sons are for!

Yep - it is Tom who's 17 today. I'll pass on your wishes to him - I might even let him have some "bad" (sweet) cereal today even though it's a school day. I need Rayray's gap tooth smilie!
The truth is he'll have eaten whatever he wants and have gone to school before i get home, so I'll never know what he had for breakfast.

Greg, Congratulations on your retirement. I agree with Shiela 1948 was a good year, not sure if I will like the being 60 thing. Take care of your self, make sure you get 2 evaluations before doing any surgery, I wish I had.
Harry & I have enjoyed what travel we have been able to do, this years trip to China had to be canceled of course, maybe next year. Australia is also on my list of places to visit.
Enjoy your retirement to the fullest.

CG - Welcome to retirement. Don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing (Retirement) as I find that I have been so busy I don't know how I found the time to go to work.

Nah! It's all good but takes a bit of time getting things organised ie pension card, health card etc.

Any way all the best - you hit the nail on the head with your comment about deciding what job to do then putting it off until tomorrow!!!

CG, it's about time! Well, don't you think it's about time for retirement? I hope whatever medical issues are bothering you can be quickly healed or dealt with so that you can sit back, prop your feet up, and feel that there is nothing to bother you. Hubby and I are retired - and just keep getting busier, it seems. Ah, but it's things we WANT to do. That's the difference! ENJOY!

Oh CG that one is easy, even I know it. Take a strip and eat it and swallow it immediately. Don't let anyone see the strip before you eat it. So that the only way anyone will know what you ate is the opposite of what is left!!!

Hi Greg. for the birthday wishes - I do enjoy this 2-day birthday idea (as long as we don't have to add 1 year for each day). I haven't had time recently to read the posts, let alone contribute. I see from the ones on this page that you have joined the ranks of the lucky retirees - congratulations!!! I am SO envious
