Hi everybody around the world!
Welcome to my page,  here in the eastern edge of the Midwest US.
Come in, make yourself comfy, have a beer (Moosehead, my favorite) or a glass of white wine and don't forget the chocolate buckeyes!  If you've never had a buckeye, let me explain:  Ohio is called the "buckeye state" and our state tree of course is the buckeye tree.  The Ohio State Buckeyes are a great college football team (although I'm not much of a fan, having grown up in Maryland).  The buckeye tree produces a nut that is round and dark brown, with a tan spot at the top.  Around here you can buy chocolate buckeye candies - with peanut butter inside!  Yum!

A little about me --  I have 3 kids, 2 cats, 1 bunny and a husband who works too much.  I work part-time during the winter/spring preparing tax returns for H&R Block, while trying to grow my website design business (Midwest Web Design -- www.MidWebDes.com) in my "spare" time, as well as a new business selling comfortable clothing for women at parties.  Great quality stuff!  New division of an old company. www.myjockeyp2p.com/lindamustric if you'd like to see the catalog.

Our son - 18, just graduated HS, daughter - 15, 10th gr, other daughter - 13, 8th gr.

Our labradoodle puppy, Rocky, is 3.

Linda,
Ballston Spa is in NY about a half hour up the road from Albany or about midway between NYC and Canada.

Your frozen car was something else, I've never been frozen out of my car for that long.

Stay warm and Merry Christmas

Hi Linda! I just quickly skimmed your 5 pages & realized that I don't think I have made it here for a visit before!! Sorry I missed wishing you a Happy 50th - from what I can see in your photos you look like a very young 50 year old! I am a fellow Ohioan, born & raised in Cleveland, but went to college at U of Mich. (same years as Judy from San Diego!), then became a Navy wife & moved 17 times during the next 23 years! This time of year, believe it or not, I miss the cold & snow! I wish you & your family (how many?) many blessings at Christmas & throughout the new year

Valrico is about 15 miles east of Tampa so I'm not too terribly far north of Venice. Are you planning any visits to your parents this winter? Maybe you could come for our FL Sudokuholics meeting at the end of January? You'll be ready for some sunshine & warmth by then!!

Linda, Knock! Knock! Anybody home? Another Buckeye calling. Have you any room for a little bubbly? Well, then. I will leave this case of Veuve Clicquot Brut. I hope this messsage finds you and your family in the best of health and spirits. You are always a delight on the site. Celebrate the season.

Glad you enjoyed Michael Crawford. I did also. Linda (my wife) and I live in So. Oregon and travel in our motorhome during the spring and summer. We winter (Snowbird) in Yuma AZ Nov-mid March. We enjoy the lifestyle but are ready to settle on just OR and AZ and slow down on the travel. We have been in Marysville at the Honda plant and I lived in Toledo as a kid. We visited there a couple times the last few years in our travels through the state.

Hi Linda! Happy New Year. I used a program called gimp. found it online. I hate it. Took me over an hour just to do the eyes. I guess you get what you pay for, huh? I paid nothing, so I got, well, you know. Anyways, do you know of any free programs that can do this kind of work? And possibly with less than 562 steps (half of which were wrong) Glad you enjoyed!

Hi Linda! I laughed when you mentioned the NHL games- I used to be a season ticket holder for about eight years of the St. Louis Blues, and I heard it ALL there! One night, a man let out a string of curses which would embarass a sailor. Another fellow said "Hey! Can you watch your mouth?!?! I got my 10 year old daughter here!!!!"
Without missing a beat the first man replied "Oh, Yeah! The cheap seats at a hockey game are a FINE place to teach your daughter morality!"
The entire section burst into laughter, myself included. The second man turned red as a beet!

Linda, June 14-17, my wife and I will be in Columbus, OH. We will be visiting Pat Mullen, who is a semi-retired Folklore professor at OSU, and is an old friend of my wife. If you're interested, maybe we can work out some way to meet.

Hi Linda! We met in a religious retreat near Santa Cruz. Dino was the guest instructor there. An awesome lady! She taught meditation as a way to rehearse mentally what we could do to break our bad habits. We visualized up to the point before we initiated the bad habit and then continued with a different act to break us away from continuing the bad habit. I nearly cried to leave her, she is soooo wonderful! And Keith is such a comfortable friend to talk to. My sons were concerned about me meeting on-line friends but these two were the best!

Hi Linda! As much as I DON'T like the Ohio State Buckeyes (being a Michigan wolverine girl!), your chocolate & peanut butter buckeyes look really yummy!! My oldest GRANDDAUGHTER is the same age as your oldest daughter, & she is in Girl Scouts, too. How are the cookie sales going up there? Can you believe that when I was a Brownie back in ???, we sold G.S. cookies for 35 cents a box!!! Good onya for being a Leader

Hi Linda, it looks to me as if it is my first time here...so I put down a gallon of maple syrup by the kitchen door so you can enjoy it with all your friends. I started by listening to your Utube since I am a former teacher...I liked it...After that I went through your gallery and enjoyed the pictures of the lunar eclipse. Also loved the birthday party...it seemed like it was still on. I wrote a few comments and now want to mention that my cousin also a former teacher lives in Hubbard, Ohio. She married an Italian-American and spent most of her life in Ohio. I have no idea how far is Hubbard from Columbus...but just wanted to mention it anyway.

Hi Linda!
I watched your teacher utube several times, love it!!! I taught school for 20 years and can really identify with that rant.
Also agree 50 is the new 30. I'm approaching 50 and wish I looked as young as you do.
Stop by my page sometime--we can commiserate on this icy winter. I can't wait until springtime--we're on our 4th ice storm?

Nibbles thanks you for your kind comments.
I am currently sitting on the edge of my chair...because she is laying on it, purring, and I don't like to disturb!!!
Hubby has just spent the last half hour playing with her in the bed. She can't resist a good feisty play with the toes. Guess how she got her name!!!
I hope she never loses her kittenishness.

Linda, I don't watch many youtubes cause I'm really not into music, but I had to come see yours about teachers. I'm going to try sending it to my daughter who's a third grade teacher. I want her to know just how important her job is despite her low salary. Some days I think she wonders if she made the right career choice. I sure wish teachers were paid as much as athletes!

Hubby and I just had a look at your blizzard photos. Hubby does not like the cold and would not even go to Germany with me in December back in 1995. Loved the snow against the sliding door. Looked warm in the house!!!!

Hi, Linda- a very delayed thanks for your welcome and the buckeyes. I love, love, LOVE Buckeyes!!! I actually grew up in Ohio, and haven't had one in years. When I went off to college out of state, it was beyond my comprehension that no one else knew what buckeyes were. Now I can't get them out of my head, maybe I'll try to make some soon.
Have a great day and weekend!

Linda, thanks for getting back to me. We are going to be in Columbus from June 14-17(flying out early afternoon). We'll be there to visit friends, Pat Mullen and Roseanne Rini, both in the English department at OSU, though Pat is mostly retired. If you're open to meeting, I hope we can work something out.

Thank you for the welcome and the treats. I am sharing with Susie as she is a chocolate fiend. Sassy, on the other hand, would rather eat veggies. Since ferrets are naturally carnivores, I am not sharing much with them. (Plus, I am selfish... ) Don't punish yourself too much by staying away. Unfortunately, work and animals keep me away more than I would like. I am pleased with the kindness shared around the world on this site!

I just dropped in on your page and had the best time watching your video (WAY cool...my daughter is an 8th grade science teacher and I want to share that with her) while I snacked on some of those Buckeye candies!

Linda, I'm sorry we didn't get to meet too. Yes, we do get around. Since my wife and I both retired, we've been having a great time going places we've never been before. Hopefully, you'll get your turn after your husband retires. The economy and gas prices are making it more difficult. I hope that doesn't last forever.
