I have done some painting years ago..just landscapes in water colour.
My birthday was a non-event as I am on placement for 1 month at a hospital away from home and was alone in nurses quarters.Almost finished a diploma of nursing thank goodness.At my age of 57yrs, it is a real achievement.

Shiela, I have been thinking a lot about you & your cat. Haven't seen any posts from you in awhile. Is everything okay?

Well, didn't you make my day! So very nice to hear from you. It's been crazy here, workwise, hence my absence (too long!) from the pages. I hope Nigel is doing better and I know you'll shower him with affection and care for him. Our three are trooping along, with 16 1/2 year-old Holmes still in the picture and managing his kidney issues and bouts of pancreatitis with the courage of ten cats. Have you been traveling? We're finally starting to plan the New Zealand trip we've been talking about for years; barring catastrophe, we hope to get there in November. Anyway, I have been thinking about you and am so glad you took time to reconnect. I promise not to be so negligent in my communication! Take care!

Shiela, it is a word game on IWON, called alphabug. I am addicted. I start playing in the morning, but at night when the family goes to bed, I can play uninterrupted. One of those people who play to I loose.

Thanks for the well wishes for my dad, Shiela - he's starting to really perk up now as it's been almost a month since the surgery. It sure was a long month, though!

Just noticed a photo on TOUGH today that was mine from a few years ago. So I checked in the gallery and had take 10 photos of those shown on TOUGH in the previous month. One of them was the midnight scene from the North of Scotland. and yes - your ancestors - the Sutherlands could well have seen sights like that. My ancestors were Morrisons, also from the same area. The Photo was taken from the yard of a cottage on the hill that my grandmother grew up on - overlooking Torrisdale bay. We had a cottage there, Sadly it burned down a few years ago. Now with the cottage gone ... and so many of the folk that held us dear passed on, and the distance from Australia, we dont make that trip so often but I yearn for the views from that hill and the cliffs around it. Shiela, thank you for your nice compliments on the wedding site & on the girls of our family. I can't wait to see them all dressed up in their wedding attire! Kyley is going to be a beautiful bride, and my two oldest daughters will be bridesmaids along with two of Kyley's teacher friends. They will be wearing a striking shade of teal blue.

Starr is marrying Quill November 5th, 2011. The wedding's going to be down here. We thought a while that it could be in Traverse City, where they'll be living, but I'm glad circumstances led us to decide on down here. I don't know HOW I could have coordinated a wedding long distance! (I'm wondering HOW I'm going to manage it at all, but that's just the stress talking.) Burl is going to get a chance to go to Ann Arbor in October and I can't come because it's the weekend the church is throwing a bridal shower for Starr. *sigh*

Shiela, I couldn't find anything on the Internet to explain your cat's behaviour. What a puzzle, and a frightening one. Hopefully there won't be any repeat episodes. Is his eyesight okay? Other than seizure activity, the only thing I can think of would be that there was some sudden problem with his vision and he was trying to orient himself in space by moving his feet and head. Beats me, but I'd sure like to find out--keep me posted and best of luck. I know how devoted you are to your pet!

Belated thanks for the birthday wishes, Shiela! Yes, Broni and I share a birthday, and we are tentatively planning to invite ourselves to Rayray's next year and have him prepare a birthday feast for us! ha ha ha

Hope Nigel is faring well. Some changes to his routine with the house guests afoot must make life interesting!
