Hi Gail! I have not been to your page in SOOO long, but obviously lots of other people have been dropping by. Wow, 1841 comments!! Hope all is well with you & your family. I was sorry to see some posts about Ruby which clued me in that she has died? I figured you keep up on all that's going on much better than I do - could you tell me what happened to her? Was she in poor health? Maybe she was a more frequent commenter on SA than on Easy. I had not seen her post in a long time. Sure wish you could catch a short flight to Florida & join us at the July meet up. It's a shame it's such a LONG flight & SO expensive to travel between the U.S & Oz. How I would love to go back to your wonderful country now that I know so many more people there than I did in 2005. Keith sure timed his visit well. He was lucky to be able to meet so many of you over there.

The Big Bunny and I thank you for your lovely anniversary wishes, Gail! I was luckier than Andre, as the first frog I kissed was the right one! Such a pleasure to hear from you.

Gail, Gail, Gail--arrived home yesterday afternoon and am just checking all 63 e-mail messages, and yours is the very first one I'm responding to. I couldn't wait to get home and tell you ... (and it will seem like I'm making this up!) that yet another experience draws us together. We were in Bruges, having a drink in a lovely cafe overlooking the Belfry when the clock in the tower began to play a tune and sure enough, it was Danny Boy. I told my husband "oh, wait until I tell Gail!" We lifted our glasses to you and your family and you must take this as a sign that Molly is doing well, watching you from above and smiling down. Perhaps she's even met my mom and they're sharing stories. Thank you for the welcome home message. We had a superb vacation but it's wonderful to see our three cats again. Now it's time to play catch-up in the garden, vacuum cat hair from the new rug, and see if I remember how to cook. I hope you're doing beautifully and that each day will bring you the warmth of a friendly smile.

Thanks for your birthday message, Gail. I am now drinking white wine out of the type of glasses on your message! And a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape with the meal that Pete is cooking. Your YouTube made me cry, however. It was a song that my Dad taught me to play on the piano, when I was about 11 and I always think of him when I hear it. This is a beautiful rendition. Thank you.

Hi Gail, for visiting my page. I also remember you from when I was a regular here. I see you are also an animal lover like I am. We currently have a german shepherd and a mini dachshund as well as our daughter's golden retriever while she and her husband are out to sea (both in the Navy). Please visit again when you get a chance.

GAIL, my dear, whatever gave you the impression that I do not drink? I have been known to sip some peach schnapps, have a Kahlua coffee or have a mixed drink. I just do not like most beer!

Thanks for the birthday wishes and for the assistance in drinking the champagne, You are a true friend.

Gail, I read your message once again, I had mis read it before. You said I did not drink IT meaning bubbly, I read it as I did not drink, period. Yes, in that case you are right, bubbly gives me a headache and I rarely drink it. But you know, those 2 bottles of cyber bubbly did not cause any problems at all. Must be good vintage, eh?

G'day Gail. Thanks for your anniversary wishes. You must be the champion of Sudokuland at remembering everyone's special occasions! Rob & I had a nice day & celebrated by going to see the movie Angels & Demons & then out to dinner. We had high hopes of being all done with our kitchen by our anniversary, but we didn't quite make it. Only two minor things delayed the official completion - finding someone to tack down the rug again after it was rolled up during the beginning stages & discovering that our brand new Electrolux wall oven wouldn't heat! Grrr. But still we are very thrilled with everything else & happy with how all our tough choices during the planning came together very nicely in the end! I'll try to get some pics posted on Flickr soon. Now I am struggling to decide where to put everything & get all the boxed up stuff put back in the new cabinets & drawers. The whole layout is completely different so it's going to be a challenge. Good thing I like puzzles! Hope you & your family are well. xo, K

Hi, Gail:
for the birthday wishes for my Mom.

We had a nice lunch at a local Japanese restaurant (she felt like having sushi) and I got her a mixed flower bouquet for her room.

She lives in assisted living--they had balloons at her seat in the dining hall, and the staff sang, "Happy Birthday" to her at dinner.

Hi Gail
Thank you for my birthday message. Though I don't visit the site that often these days (retirement seems to make it more difficult to fit in time on the computer), it is nice to hear from some of the old crowd and know that you haven't been forgotten.

I had a lovely day yesterday, being spoilt, going to my tap dancing class, and then being spoilt again before getting ready to go out for dinner with friends and family in a favourite Italian restaurant - "fried zucchini flowers", "pheasant ravioli", "twice cooked duck", yum.

Now it's back to everyday, but that's good too. Out with the girls early this evening for another glass or two of raising, then people in tomorrow afternoon (maybe a glass or two), then out to lunch with others on Sunday, lunch with work girlfriends on Tuesday and a possible dinner on Wednesday. I suppose then my birthday will definitely be over!!

Hope things are going well for you.
Cheers
Gloria

Gail, thinking of you and your family. So sorry it has been a hard day. HUGS to you!

(MizT had a good idea to plan something for the days that will be difficult. On my mother's first birthday after she passed, my siblings & our Dad had a birthday party for her, complete with cake. It would have been her 75th, and we had promised her a party for her 75th when we celebrated Dad's a couple of years earlier.)

Sudoku Hugs!

Just saw that I was tagged - a month ago!! Probably a bit late to join the tag gae now. I haven't been coming to Sudokuland for some time. Firstly I had computer probs - they lasted for several weeks, then I was travelling and on school camps, and now on holiday and not at home. i RECKON i'E JUST ABOUT BROKEN THE ADDICTION!! but had a spare few half hours in the last 2 days and have ducked on to check out the site. Hope that all is going well for you and yours Blessings Fi

... and in the above .. I think that you probably have 5 random facts about me.

1 computer probs last month
2 have done time on school camps
3 am on holidays
4 have nearly broken my sudoku addiction :)
5 am a lousy typist :):):)

Hi, Gail! Thanks for filling me in. Kathy and I both left messages on Tami's page a week ago but never heard back. Tami and I had been communicating before then, so I assumed she was still thinking of coming. But in any event, I saw Heidi's comment on "easy" today that she'd been in touch with Tami and that Tami was going to be joining us on Saturday. Now if only we could figger out a way to get YOU over here!!!!!!

Fear not, Gail. There will be some kind of Sudokufest in the US next year - in fact, I'm already naming it: "GailGala 2010!!!" So just let us know when you're coming, and I'll put the planning committee to work on it.

Hello Gail - I hope all is well with you.
The magpies (and not the footy ones) have been in fine singing form lately. They serenade me first thing in the morning. I do love listening to their warbling.
Take care

Hi, Gail! Thanks for your comments on my FionaFest pictures! I probably will make postcards from the photos. I made notecards featuring the FionaFest logos which I distributed to all the attendees. I actually have a small graphics business and do custom cards, invitations, business cards, etc. through some local retail shops. I had a larger-scale business in Richmond, VA before we retired, and I vowed I would scale back so that I could enjoy my "golden" years, so I don't advertise much. But I love creating things with my computer and sharing them with my friends! Just wait'll I get started on the Sudocruise!!!

Hi, Gail! I hope the cruise works out, but I will not be pursuing this any further. I got very few responses, and of the ones I did get, everyone wants something entirely different! I've got too much on my plate right now to try to pull this together, so I hope someone else takes over the planning. Please keep me posted of any travel plans you might have. I would love to meet up with you at some point!!! ♥Jane
