Isn't it hilarious that we picked almost the same video? And almost the same pie? I'm right this now making a fresh strawberry pie (cooked cornstarch binder, not baked), but mine has a shortbread crust and the (cream cheese) cream piped on top. And we're both doing Sukoku. Hmm. When were you born. Were we separated at birth?

Hi Eve, many thanks for your birthday greetings the other day. I have been a bit flat out lately, but I am gradually getting around to thanking everybody for their kind thoughts. Many thanks.

When HIV became prevalent in San Francisco, a group of actors moved to Asland to avoid the epidemic. The still live there, and work with the Shakespeare Theater. They could play anyone and any thing. Wish I could see them again.

Hi Eve -- it was great to find your message on my Tempage. Thanks for thinking of me! The heat and smoke are pretty bad here, but no fire -- knock wood. I really feel badly for those that are more directly affected by the fires. California is a bit of a mess right now!

Hi Eve ~ Yes, the picture called "Autumn at Silver Falls State Park" is my fair entry. It is of beautiful fall leaves framing a distant waterfall. I enlarged it to 16 X 20, in a matted 24 X 30 wood frame, so it should be extra-impressive! I can't wait to bring it home and put it up on our own wall! I'll let you know if the judges liked it as much as I do! Thanks for your best wishes.

Hi Eve,
I finally did figure out how to do the avatar...(wth alot of help) although, when you did mine for me last time, you added my name on the side, how did you do that? Remeber, it had my dog, then my name in aqua?
That's really neat that the quilters do that for the needy. There's alot of work that goes into those quilts. What a blessing.
I left some more brownies for you...Enjoy!

Eve - The sheepskin slippers and boots shown here are lightweight and are available as moccasins, slippers, boots and scuffs. Give me a bit of time to find out prices. Some of the boots are available with outdoor soles (much sturdier) and sell for about $80-90, I think. The others would be cheaper.

Hi Eve Thanks for visiting my page. The rock art that you asked about is the traditional Australian Aboriginal xray style. That one is a barramundi - local fish and also a local turtle.... so it is a hunting painting. At the bottom you may see a few stick figures half hidden behind some rock of hunters

food painting really - painted on rock with paints made of other rocks. Some go back hundreds and thousands of years - Dont know about this one.

Thanks for the comments, Eve. I always enjoy reading your reports from Southern Oregon. I gather that we share an interest in music. I will check in on you page every now and then.

I think that my hosts found that the cheapest ticest for the opening ceremonies are $200 - about one month's typical wages here. Under these circumstances, we will be watching on TV like most of the world.

I lived in LA for 5 years - in Eagle Rock, right near Broadway and Eagle Rock Blvd! The Eagle theater was a block away. Small world!

Were you a competitive swimmer? what was your stroke? At what level did you compete?

How did you make your way to Jacksonville? - my apologies if I am being too nosy.

Eve, thank you for the posting, you must be quite the historian. I do love hearing about times before me, but unfortunately my great aunt wanders in and out of being present. This was the first time I had seen her in years. My mom was so happy because when we went to leave she called her by her name.
