WELCOME TO THE BEAN PAD....

Before anyone asks I'm not related to Mr Bean although I must admit we saw him live in Melbourne many moons ago and it was one of the most memorable shows I've been too. 'Bean' is a childhood nickname that my elder sister bestowed apon me - rhymes with my second name 'Jean'. Truth often is a bit boring - should've let you ponder on such a strange handle  [name for those not up on Ozzie slang] for a bit longer.

Nothing else to say but I'm glad you dropped bye .....

Hi Bean, glad you had a great birthday. I am hoping to get to Gail's on the 31st and look forward to seeing you there. At the moment I am spending 12 hours a day sitting by my Mother's nursing home bed, she is very low and can't possible last much longer - it is just awful.

Hello Bean - Thank you for your visit. It was most enjoyable! You are right, we don't have to winterize our tulip bulbs. I add bulbs from time to time, but they stay in the ground all year long. We have had a mole in my flower garden the past few years and I think he has "disturbed or ate" some of them. I think we have the mole problem taken care of though. We have more moles when it is a dry season. They come looking for grubs and the grubs are closer to the surface looking for moisture. It is a vicious circle.

I had a Hibiscus plant for years. It was looking "woody" because it was old. We planted it in the backyard one summer and it died that winter. There is a variety that will survive the winters here in Michigan, but I found out mine was not that variety. My mom has a beautiful yellow Hibiscus in Florida. They have a hard time keeping geraniums in the summer. It is too hot there. Their average temperature in the summer is 35 deg. (c) Our summers are warmer than they use to be, but we get a reprieve in the Fall and Winter.

Thanks for stopping, Bean. I hope your day is a good one.

Hi Bean, Thanks for the welcome. Magnolia is tiny, tho' the second largest town in the county after Hodgenville- ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S BIRTHPLACE- Magnolia is 6 miles (>10 KM) from there). And we have lots of Magnolias around here.

Thanks for the good wishes on Nora Hope's birth. Nora and big brother Payton and mommy and daddy are well. I'm still with my daughter and family in Cincinnati, Ohio, doing gramma duties and becoming quite tired myself! It's a good tired, however! I'm hoping to be able to go home tomorrow (Wednesday 5/14) and then I can play sudoku again!

Dear Bean,
Thank you for your support while I have been ill. I never expected such a response from this site, everyone’s concern and caring has overwhelmed me. I can only say that it is the genuine people here who make this a very unique place to share our hopes, dreams, ups and downs. So thank you for being there.

Hi Bean!!! Thank you, thank you for the b'day wishes!!! Unfortunately I've plenty of reserve so must exercise even more - pushing myself away from the table. I must admit I'm the perfect weight for someone 6 inches taller! So it's back to running more!

Bean, I have a Brother 1500 that I have had since October. My friend has the 7570. We both really enjoy our machines. I lusted after an embroidery machine after Christine got hers. I got Brother because of the Disney factor..to many kiddos in my life, not to mention me! You would thinkd being married to a rocket scientist that it would be a snap figuring things out...NOT! I just figured out how to unzip my downloaded designs. In the future I hope to do some designing of my own. I will be posting pictures of Bergen's quilt on my page soon.

Hi Bean, I'm OK, thank you for asking.
You are right about Mondays and starting anew! That's just what I am doing, the house guests have all gone, I can get back to the diet and exercise and everything else that has taken a back seat over the last little while.
I hope I will see you at Gail's soon. I'm on for a coffee anytime.

Thank you Bean for making my birthday a special one.
Many sudoku friends from around the world coming to visit me and wishing me a Happy Birthday have overwhelmed me.
My Husband and sons took me out to dinner to a Chinese Restaurant, and on the Sunday, we had a delicious Roast Dinner at MIL’s.

Well I've been knee deep in roo poo for a while but my wellies did me proud. Thanks for having a little party at my place. Did you ask how to do my accent? Well it is done by holding down the 'alt' key and then typing in 130 on the numerical pad. There you go and if it wasn't you I will go and get my brain tested. Hope all is well, take care x

Hi Bean! I always enjoy your comments on Easy, but somehow I have never made my way to your Page before. I see that I missed your birthday (& a lot of other special occasions) while I was away from home for 10 days followed by babysitting our grandsons the week of 4/27. Anyway, I wish you happiness not just on your birthday but always. Enjoyed your Photo Gallery. You've got some very cute housemates!

Oh my gosh!!!! I had about 22 messages in my inbox today just from Sudoku friends wishing me a 'Happy Birthday'! Thank you so much for all of your kind thoughts and wishes especially when I haven't been around for so long. It has been a wonderful day and a lovely weekend. Rick and I went away to a romantic chalet at Springbrook with an open fireplace and we went bushwalking etc. I have uploaded a photo of Kiarah and some others onto 'my page'. Photos taken 26th May 2008. Kiarah is just about 18 months old now and still gorgeous hahaha....

Hi, Bean! Thanks for admiring my colorful avatar. In your same post you commented on MizT's lightning strikes. Well, guess who made my avatar for me? None other than the talented MizT. Talk about a coincidence.
Hope all is well there today for you! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

hey Bean

sorry I rushed out - I lost track of the time. We were supposed to have no power today (electricity maintenance), but the power never actually went off. We had filled every container we had with water early this morning, because without power we have no water, not even for flushing toilets. Squirt wanted to go away for the day, but I really had to stay home and mark. Needless to say, we were relieved that the maintenance was postponed.

It was nice to chat to you too (and Win) - haven't been on at the same time as you for a while. I told Squirt that I was chatting to someone from Burma and she was disappointed to have missed out.

cya :)

I can see it's going to take me months to get this together, too...but I feel like I already know you guys from reading your comments for the past couple of months. Oh well, I'll get it done as time permits. Loved your photo gallery. I need to figure out how to get more shots into my gallery. Thanks again!
